Madam Ambassador HAGIT BEN-YAAKOV
Hagit Ben-Yaakov serves currently as the Ambassador of Israel to Finland and Estonia. She started her term in Helsinki in autumn 2020.
Ben-Yaakov has held several senior posts at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel in Jerusalem, most recently the Director of Israel-China Economic Affairs. During her time in the National Security Council of the Prime Minister’s Office, she was the Senior Director for European Affairs (2016-2018). Ben-Yaakov served as the Ambassador of Israel to Latvia and Lithuania in 2011-2015.
Ambassador Ben-Yaakov holds a B.A. in History and Middle East studies and a M.A. in Middle East studies from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. She is a graduate of the Executive program of the Negotiation Strategies Institute (NSI/Harvard University).
GIL BARAM Ph.D. Cyber Strategy and Policy
Gil is an established cybersecurity strategy and policy expert. She is currently a Fulbright Cybersecurity postdoctoral fellow at the Center for International Security and Cooperation (CISAC) at Stanford University, and an adjunct research fellow at the Centre of Excellence for National Security (CENS) at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU) and is a research fellow at the Blavatnik Interdisciplinary Cyber Research Center (ICRC), at Tel Aviv University.
She completed her doctoral studies within the excellence program of the School of Political Science, Government and International Relations at Tel Aviv University. Her research focuses on governmental decision-making during cyberattacks and strategic attribution-related policy. She was the Head of the Cyber & Space research group at the Yuval Ne’eman Workshop for Science, Technology and Security, at Tel Aviv University. Previously, she served as Senior Cyber Intelligence Analyst in the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office.
OPHIR BEAR, R&D and Product lead, Cybring
Ophir is a CEO and board member with deep experience in the computer software space. As an experienced leader, Bear has helped various organizations in Israel and abroad, assisting senior leaders navigate through complex challenges such as entrepreneurship, strategy, business development, growth, and culture.
Bear currently leads the R&D and Product divisions at Cybring, a Cybersecurity training solutions provider, and serves as a board member at iSpace, Israel Air-Force alumni startup hub, and at Restart, a non-profit organization for rehabilitating wounded veterans. Bear is also the Founder and CEO of Angles, a software technologies company focused on assisting startups and corporate capabilities augmentation. Additionally, Bear is a lecturer for Cybersecurity and Enterprise Software Entrepreneurship in two BA programs at Reichman University.
Bear was Chairman, CEO and Co-Founder of Cympire, a company focused on the human-factor side of cyber security.
Previously, Bear served as commander of the Israel Air Force technology unit (OFEK). DuPreviously, Bear served as commander of the Israel Air Force technology unit (OFEK). During his command period, Bear led the establishment of the Air Force cyber unit and initiated the integrated NOC and SOC construction.
JUHA WIHERSAARI, Colonel (ret.), Doctoral Researcher and Hybrid Warfare expert
Colonel (ret.), Juha Wihersaari is Doctoral Researcher and Member of the Russia Research Group at the Finnish National Defence University.
He has a General Staff Officer´s Degree from year 1993 and he served in the Finnish Defence Forces until 2015.
Wihersaari´s military experience includes positions mainly in Military Intelligencce, where he served 26 years.
During his career Wihersaari served two times as Defence Atteché: the first time in the Eastern Europe (inc. Ukraine) and the second time in the Middle East (onc. Israel).
He also served five years as the Director of the Finnish Signal intelligence.
Since 2016 Wihersaari has been the owner and the Director of JITINT, small intelligence and Security Company.
His doctoral Research is focused on Hybrid Warfare in the Russian Art of War: “Hybridisodankäynti venäläisessä sotataidossa”.
AAPO CEDERBERG, CEO, Cyberwatch Finland
Aapo is an experienced cyber security strategist and analyst with unique strategic level international expertise and understanding of hybrid threats.
Aapo’s credentials include among others:
+ Lead author for the first Finnish Cyber Security Strategy.
+ Associate Fellow of the Global Fellowship Initiative at the Geneva Centre of Security Policy (GCSP).
+ Secretary General for the Security Committee of Finland for six years.
+ Head of Strategic Planning and Forecasting at the Finnish Ministry of Defense.
+ CEO and founder of Cyberwatch Finland – a firm focused on helping decision-makers to establish a holistic cyber strategy, to build situational awareness, and to take steps to ensure cyber resilience.
